Day 75: January 9, 2011.

I'm down to the last week and a half of my time at home.  This break has been absolutely fabulous in every way possible!  I've had a good amount of downtime, I've had my fair share of sweet treats (probably a fairer share than I should have had ;)), I've been able to spend a good deal of time with both family and friends, I've danced, I've taught, I've stayed up until 3, I've napped in the middle of the day...It's been an all-around wonderful time at home here in good old Ashburn, VA.  I'm not leaving for another 10 days or so, but this last week and a half is going to be running around here and there, this weekend is going to be spent in Tysons at a dance convention...The relaxation part of break is pretty much over.  (Which is perfectly fine with me!  I'm SO ready to be busy and productive again!!)

But as I sit here on "my" couch at home right now, I'm lucky to be soaking in this sight (and its heat that I'm very thankful for!):

As ready as I am to be back in the city, it's evenings like these when I'm able to breath in a spacious home and can hear myself think without sirens and car horns out the window why I love being home in the wintertime.  I've said before that fall and winter are my two favorite seasons to be home during, and nothing says "home" like a real-wood fire in the fireplace! :)  It's not much, but it's one of those little things that's associated with home that I go without at school; it's those little associations that I'm continuously reminding myself to acknowledge and be thankful for over the next nine days.  (Because knowing me, the second the semester starts I'll probably be complaining and want to be back on break!  Haha! ;))

So tonight on this cold January evening, the warmth of home makes me happy :)
