Day 56: December 21, 2010.

I spent almost all of my time at the Loudoun School of Ballet during my high school years.  From the time I was seven years old until I graduated, the Loudoun School of Ballet was where I developed my love for dance, where I received my training, where I was given performance opportunities as well as many others...Some of my closest friends are those who also went through the LSB journey.  Being together with people for as many hours as we were really forms a family.  And it's a family that's stayed strong even to this day, and for many more years to come I'm sure.

Needless to say, I love going back there.  I love being there...My house, my grandparents' house, my church and the dance studio are the four places that I consider to be "home" when I come back from New York, so I spend as much time as possible there either taking class, teaching, rehearsing, or helping out with rehearsals.  Each year on the Tuesday evening that last week before Christmas, the Jazz Company holds its final rehearsal before the studio opens back up in January when regular classes resume.  It was always one of my favorite ones.  Everyone's excited because school's about to be done for Christmas.  The studio is technically closed, so the only ones there are us, our company director/rehearsal directors and the parents who are helping with costumes, giving the atmosphere an energetic vibe.  It's also the night of the Jazz Company holiday potluck party/secret santa exchange (which is always a blast).  I got to go help out at this rehearsal tonight.  I got to see my pieces that I hadn't seen since setting them in August.  I got to see all the pieces live, actually.  Chase and Christine came.  Kristen and her new baby boy Hagan came.  My mom and some other sweet moms were there helping.  The dancers were tired but happy (having just finished their 2010 run of "The Nutcracker").

It was just so nice to be back "home" :)

Tonight, remembering all the fun I had at the studio, bringing those memories into my time in the studio now, and watching the younger dancers making memories of their own make me happy :)
