Day 20: November 15, 2010.

Most every morning I walk down 11th Street to get to the dance studio.  This is one of my favorite little through streets in the area, so I try to make it a point to take this route so I can enjoy the relative quietness and the residential atmosphere, even if for only a moment.  Toward the 2nd Avenue end there's a line of trees that has gradually shifted color over the past few weeks, going from a vivid, lush green at the end of the summer to this gorgeous gold:

This photo taken on my phone doesn't do the color full justice, but just think in "city perspective."  These trees are surrounded on three sides by grey and black cement and pavement, and above us all a blanket of clouds was shielding the morning sun away.  Those factors made me even more aware of the beauty of the sight before me.  And just yesterday I was thinking about how I would love to get away from the city for a bit...Go somewhere that I've never been before and experience nature.  Give me trees and water...New England or somewhere southern--Tennessee maybe?--would be awesome, but I'm not picky!  This is a trip that's got to happen eventually.
But for now, this is as close as I'm going to get.
And I'll take it :)

So today, the little tastes of nature make me happy :)
